Biography
I recently opened a private practice after almost two decades of work as a research psychologist and assistant clinical professor at UC Berkeley (where I continue to work 1 day per week). My research primarily involved the developmental progression of and treatments for childhood ADHD.
I specialize in family-based behavioral treatments for children with ADHD and related emotional and behavioral problems. I primarily work with parents to help them learn new ways to manage their child's behavior, and I offer parental support for dealing with challenging children. I also offer teacher consultation on-site regarding behavioral strategies that can help children with ADHD be successful at school.
Prior to my work at UC Berkeley, I completed my clinical training at the Neuropsychiatric Institute -- now called the Semel Institute -- at UCLA. I received my PhD in clinical and developmental psychology from the University of Pittsburgh in 1998 (MS in 1995) and my undergraduate degree from Stanford University in 1988.
